Hamsters roam a large area in the wild and require a large amount of floor space to live a happy life. Please never choose a cage with less that 200 square inches of floor area.

Do Hamsters Bite?

Yes hamsters will bite, but only when they have to.

1. Hamsters rely on smell to identity you, so if you smell like food they may try and take a bite.

2. Hamsters bite when scared, If you wake them up or reach for them too quickly they may bite you.

3. If your hamsters bites more than normal, he may be sick or something else is going on. If you live with other people ask them what they have noticed anything.

Remember, if you take the time to bond with your hamster, a tamed hamster will never bite their owner unprovoked
